Grace - (22)
Christianity's Distinguishing Force

Romans 6:1
[ Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ ] What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

Just imagine a world where the more one sins, the more he pleases GOD!  Now I know you know that is not the world in which we live. . . .   Right?

But the teaching of Grace can be confused for the doctrine of "sinning to please GOD."  That is because our Grace factor in this life depends not on our righteousness, but on our relationship with HIM.  Otherwise stated, we can't earn our position with HIM, and we can't make HIM so mad, HE casts us out.  That's the Word.  See here:

John 6:37
All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

If we use our relationship with JESUS and the blood HE shed as an excuse to get away with habitual sinning, we miss the point.  Our relationship with HIM is what truly matters, and as we love HIM, HE loves us back by walking us out of sin and into a righteous life.

Yes, there may be times when we feel less related.  These are times when the LORD carries 99% of the load.  HE is the Lost Sheep Catcher, and we sometimes wander off.

But, HE will bring us back and cure us of our difficulties.  Why?  Because that's what HE does!  HE is full of Grace!
