Christianity's Distinguishing Force

2 Corinthians 8:6
So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.

Did you know that to truly please the LORD in our giving, it must come from an act of Grace?  Well, from reading the Word and studying for years, I believe this to be the case.  And, my good friend, the Apostle Paul, states it above.

Titus' first act of Grace was that of bringing Paul a down-payment on a promised gift of support to his ministry.  How refreshing that must have been, especially as Paul was more than likely under house arrest at this time.

Paul stressed that he was not just begging for money from the Corinthian church, but that he was eager to see this act of Grace completed by them because it would prove the love they had in their hearts for the LORD and for him.

Grace is moved by love!  Giving, when done with love as its driving force is an act of Grace emanating from us!  What a privilege to demonstrate our love for JESUS and for HIS ministers as we support them with our offerings.

I believe that the LORD highly approves of this type of giving.  And that is a very good thing!
