2 Corinthians 8:7
But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

A complete life of Grace includes the Grace of giving!  And this is not always as easy as it would seem.  You probably know that.

I remember a week or so after getting saved, I was sitting in the church at offering time, and the person next to me placed a $50 bill in the plate.  I almost passed out!  I took some time to understand how and why anyone would give that much money.

Then I learned about tithe and what it meant.  And I began to learn about giving sacrificially.  The more I learned, the more I understood what giving is all about.

To give is not a human quality.  We are designed for self-preservation.  We are designed to take not give.  But our human nature is at odds with the nature of the SPIRIT.

JESUS was our example.  HE gave until it hurt (literally) and then gave more.  HE gave HIS life!  And HE gave it with no hope of gain, except in the spiritual realm.

We are to follow HIS example and give with no thought of return.  But, I promise you that there is a return and it is Great!  By the Grace of giving, we place ourselves in the care and protection of our LORD.  No amount of money or things we can assemble through our own strength can compare!
