Grace - (51)
Christianity's Distinguishing Force

Galatians 2:9
James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.

Back in the early days of my faith we used to believe that we could detect another believer, without asking.  We called it "Spirit bearing witness with Spirit."  I am not sure if we were always correct, but it did seem to work out most of the time.

In the passage above, the heads of the new Church received Barnabas and Paul because they sensed something different about them.  The SPIRIT OF GOD in them recognized the SPIRIT OF GOD in Paul.  

Now to you and I.  For me, there is nothing greater than finding out that I have a brother of sister among the crowd.  It's like a little piece of home wherever I am.  

I remember beginning a new job in a fairly hostile environment.  One day a co-worker was driving in front of me and I noticed the bumper sticker:

My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter

So, when in the office I confronted him, and it turned out that he had not bought the truck with that sticker, but was indeed my brother!  It began a relationship that lasted the 7 years I was there and was extremely rewarding and, well . . . just Good!

It's as though Grace is an invisible bumper sticker we wear when we are HIS!  It's just . . . . 

Good!
