Knock - Knock - Who's there
(Part 3)
Fred Schwenk

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear MY voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Revelation 3:20

The verse we have been studying for the past two pages comes from a group of messages to churches in the ancient world.  These messages are relevant to today's world as well.

In the passage above JESUS was speaking to the Laodicean Church.  HIS chief complaint was that they had become lukewarm.  Just before the verse we are studying JESUS said"

"Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent"

JESUS is standing at the door of our lives and all HE is asking is that we turn from all the distractions in our lives that prevent us from true fellowship with our LORDHE asks us to be earnest or serious.

So many things in our modern lives that distract.  Sin, of course is a major factor.  But then there is even a question of balance.  It is possible to be so caught up in our duties in life and even in serving the church, that we miss the time we could be spending with the HEAD of the church.

Today (the perfect day for repenting and being earnest)  let us take a moment out of our busy-ness and open the door for JESUS.  Let us become hot instead of lukewarm.  The trade-off is to have the KING of GLORY dine with us!  And that is so very good!
