Beatitudes - being blessed

God blesses those who work for peace,
for they
will be called the children of God. There are
great women and men in this world who spend their lives trying to bring peace.
They are presidents, prime ministers, kings and queens, ambassadors and the like.
I think this is great, but I don't believe you or I can make a big difference in the
political state of things . . . . Do you? Well,
let's re-think that a bit. The world we live in is composed of, for want of a
better word, molecules. Think of a
world-molecule in this sense - a tiny group (compared to the world's population)
consisting of you, your family and your friends. Now here we can make a
bit of a difference. Yes? Let's get one
thing straight. Working for peace does not necessarily mean being in passive
agreement with everyone. There are times of great conflict through which we
occasionally must walk. Look at our best
example - JESUS. HE
was a kind and lowly man when that aspect of personality was called for. And HE
was a powerful warrior when necessary. The trick is rightly dividing the
situations . . . So much distress is
caused by getting the read of the situation wrong. Things go wrong at work so we
come home and "kick the dog!" (figuratively speaking). JESUS
knew when to be calm and HE knew when to be
fierce! Do you? If you do, you will be a great worker of peace.
Sometimes peace can only come by making a stand and taking the hard road. Pray
today for the wisdom to know when the situations dictates being passive or being
aggressive. And you will be called HIS child
because HE always knows! Got
