Philippians 4:17 (Amplified Bible)
17Not
that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit
which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that
is accumulating to your account]. We
would like to thank all our blessed readers for your efforts over the last few days.
We thank those who gave of their comfort to extend the gift of salvation to the
people of Nigeria. We also thank those
of you who read our evotion and did not unsubscribe because it was about . . . . MONEY Money
can seem to be such an unholy thing. And then again, JESUS
taught considerably about this topic. There was the Lost Coin, the Pearl of
Great Price, the Rich Man and Lazarus, The Unjust Servant, and one that we often
miss, the Parable of the Talents. In
today's world we think of talents as a strong ability in something, usually
the arts. But in JESUS time, a talent was
a large some of money. The parable goes
like this . . . A rich man went on a trip and before he left he gave
large sums of money (talents) to three of his servants for them to use and return to
him when he came back. Upon his return,
he found that two of the servants had invested the money wisely, but one had hidden
the money for fear of his master. The
two who had done well were given chief positions in the master's realm. The
one who hid the money had all his privileges taken from him, and his portion was
given to the one who had the most return. I
want to be one of the first two in this story. How about you? I know our
friend Joy in Nigeria desires this also. Only 23 years old, she is dedicating
her life and means to giving the people of her country an opportunity to know JESUS
as Savior. We are so happy
to place our talents as an investment in her hands in the form of our Warrior
Praise CD's. We are also happy that we are doing it as part of a team called
PraiseNation (us and you). There is
still time to contribute to this worthy project, but after Friday March 10, it will
be too late to help determine whether this gift will get to Nigeria in 4-5 days or
4-6 weeks. It is in the LORD'S
hands, of course, but HE may be speaking to you
to help. Please search your heart and see if you are in a position to send a
gift of any size to speed this project. We thank you and I know Joy thanks
you. And the LORD? Pray and ask HIM
what you should do.
