Beatitudes - being blessed

Matthew Chapter 5 11
"God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about
because you are my followers. 12
Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And
remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted, too. Ever
been mocked as a Christian. Let me rephrase, Ever been mocked because
you are a Christian? I bet you have. Actually,
if you evidence being a follower of JESUS
in any way in your life, I guarantee you have been mocked! Maybe you
haven't seen it, but it has happened. How
can I be so sure? Easy! JESUS said
it would happen. They mocked HIM, and they
will mock you! My definition of mock:
Childish way to refute something when intellectual refutation is impossible.
You know . . . like making funny noises or taking cheap shots, etc. The
reason people mock the Gospel is because it can't be intellectually refuted!
Don't get me wrong, people may try to refute the Gospel intellectually, but it just
can't be done. The Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees tried it with JESUS
and HE made them a laughing stock every time. HE
did that because the Truth is so simple and easy that it bears no refutation! So
people who resist the Gospel have to do it in less legitimate ways, like calling
names, cursing, and even violence. But the Truth remains the Truth! I
don't know about you, but I would rather be mocked for standing for the Truth than
accepted for believing a lie. Got
