but
even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night
shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light
are both alike to you.
We
are continuing our study from Psalm 139, we will see the characteristics of our
relationship with JESUS.
You may be surprised and delighted to know how deeply it runs! JESUS
is the LORD of Light (part 2) The
thought once came to me about light and dark, that they are not really the opposite
of one another. I mean, they are not two opposing forces. Light is real,
and dark is the absence of light! When
you go to bed at night, you don't turn on a dark, you turn off a
light. We use flashlights to see in the dark, but never
use a flash-dark to get rid of light. In
the realm of the spirit in this world, light is Truth and darkness is just
the absence of Truth. To hide from the light spiritually is when a
person is hiding from the Truth. Look around you. It is happening all
over. Atheism, false religion . . .
all darkness, all the absence of Truth. But just like sleeping in the dark,
living in the spiritual darkness can be comfortable for a while. No need to
face reality, no need to account for actions. If it feels good it must be
good. Conditional truth (what makes sense) is where we all live apart
from the SAVIOR. But!
And yes, there is a but! Darkness is the absence of Truth - a lie.
You can't live there forever. At some point the Truth comes along and knocks
on the door of our heart. And it is the
Truth that is a like a light shining in our dark comfort zone. JESUS
loves us too much to leave us comfortable without HIM.
Even after we have accepted HIM in our lives, it
is easy to slide back onto the comfort of believing a lie. Don't
let this happen to you. Ask HIM to shine HIS
light of Truth on our inner being. Accept the Truth and then ask HIS
