O God, if only you would destroy the wicked!
Get out of my life, you murderers! We
are continuing our study from Psalm 139, we will see the characteristics of our
relationship with JESUS.
You may be surprised and delighted to know how deeply it runs! JESUS
will save even the wicked! Did you
know there are wicked people? Well, I am sure that you do. Some of them
we see on the news. Some are much closer than that. The fact is, there
are a lot of them in this world. As
much as JESUS is for us, HIS
people, HE is against the wicked of this world.
But there is a very important note to this. We
can't tell the difference between people who are terminally wicked and people who
are eventually going to find the Truth and turn from their wickedness. We see
the "cover" and JESUS sees the
"whole book." And as it is said, "you can't judge a book by its
cover." Truth is, even the most
wickedly appearing people have the potential in JESUS
to have their sins forgiven. HIS sacrifice
on the cross was great enough to cover every imaginable sin! Yes, even those
whom we may think are irretrievable, HE can
save. So the point of it all is that we
are HIS ambassadors, even to the wicked.
Our living for HIM and sharing HIS
Truth can and will help convert some of the wicked of this world. But
for those who have stubbornly refused to accept HIM
as LORD, watch out! There will come a day
of reckoning! But it is HIS
day, not ours. Our job is to be a light that illuminates the darkness.
And that Light is the Light of salvation in the name of JESUS! Want
