Daniel Chapter 4 Daniel
4:34-35 34"After
this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and
I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His
rule is everlasting, and his kingdom is eternal. 35
All the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He has the power to do
as he pleases among the angels of heaven and with those who live on earth. No
one can stop him or challenge him, saying, `What do you mean by doing these things?' Greetings
PraiseNation Family! As you may have noticed, there have not been any e-votions
for the last three days (until now). This is because, the staff member who
writes them (Tuesday through Thursday) and sends them 7 days a week was in the
hospital. And yes, that person is me,
Fred Schwenk. I am gratefully home again, behind the keyboard. Be it ever
so humble . . . . . There really is no place like home! While
I find it somewhat distasteful to write about myself, I am breaking my rule this time.
Here is what happened: I was admitted to
a fantastic cardiac care unit at a major medical center near our town. Several
invasive surgical tests were performed to determine what was causing the arrhythmias I
have been experiencing. The first of two
test went off like a breeze. On the way to the second test, I heard the LORD
whisper to me, "I am with you through all
things, and I am with you now!" I would
like to tell you I heard HIS voice 24-7 while in
the hospital, but actually, I felt more like old Nebuchadnezzar, eating grass and
living in the "wild." In the
second test, everything seemed to go wrong. They failed to give me sedation (not
purposely) and I was feeling everything that was going on. In the course
of the test, the doctor accidentally inserted a catheter into an artery (should have
been in a vein) and had to remove it and start again. I
had to suggest that the nurse check my IV (which had come out) and the whole surgery
theater came alive racing to see who could get an IV in me fastest! To
sum it up, the IV was put in place, sedation was administered and the test went off
well after that. Now, let me tell you, I
was nervous about the first test. But I thought the second would go as smoothly
as the first. Of course, the test was being conducted by humans and humans make
mistakes, as in this case. I told you all
that to tell you this. The LORD honored HIS
word and HIS Word! HE
was there with me. I felt no fear as I was helping with my own surgery!
And I only feel it right for me to say the following in the wake of it all: After
this time had passed, I, Fred Schwenk, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I
praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His
rule is everlasting, and his kingdom is eternal. All
the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He has the power to do as
he pleases among the angels of heaven and with those who live on earth. No one
can stop him or challenge him, saying, `What do you mean by doing these things?' Even
in a hospital. What a Great Big GOD! PS:
Thanks for all the prayers! Fred
