brethren,
count it
all
joy
when
ye fall
into divers
temptations;

Knowing
this, that
the trying
of your
faith
works
patience.

let
patience have
her perfect
work,
that
ye may be
perfect
and
entire,
wanting
nothing.

The ability to stand strong no matter what hostile device is assaulting you (my
definition) In verse 4, The HOLY
SPIRIT tells us that we are to let
patience have her way in our lives. Basically this means do not run from
trouble. Remember yesterday we looked
at patience being like a strong soldier standing in the face of adversity?
Standing is not running. The LORD does not
sound retreat. HE desires us to stand no
matter how difficult things may seem. And
the keyword is seem. A chief trick of the enemy is to make things seem
worse than they are, not to mention our own ability to worry and fret overmuch. The
reason we can be strong is not our own power but HIS
power working in us. It is an amazing thing that JESUS'
power works only when we stand. Turning and running disables what the LORD
can do for us. Pray, read the Word and
then . . . stand! And victory is assured every time, every place
and you will feel so good when it comes! |
