you ask the LORD for wisdom (as we spoke
yesterday) are you sure you will get what you ask for? Well, in our verses
today, the HOLY SPIRIT
through James is letting us know something. HE
is telling us that we can be totally confident that we will receive the wisdom we ask
for. So it goes like this:
We have a need
We ask, not as much for the need but for
wisdom
We can have confidence that we will receive
that wisdom
The wisdom from GOD
will meet our need in remarkable ways!
Think of this one example - you have a
financial need and you go to your employer for a raise. Instead of just giving
you a tiny bit more salary, he say, "Let me do something special for you. I
am going to teach you how I started, built and run my business." So
he does and now you move to the next town and start a business like his. Now you
are financially well off, and you have the joy of running your own business.
Would it have been better to just receive a small increase in pay? I think not. Well,
when we ask the LORD for wisdom, HE
takes the time to train us to conduct our lives like HE
would in our place. In doing so, HE provides
much more than just granting our short-sided requests. HE
equips us for life! So, ask. Feel
free! The LORD will make you strong through HIS
wisdom. You will stand against all the attacks that come, because you are like HIM
and HE is invincible! |
