Today's
E-Votion Patience:
The ability to stand strong no matter what hostile device is assaulting you (my
definition)
James
Chapter 1 8 A double minded
man
is unstable
in
all
his
ways.
GospelSeek.com If
you don't already know this, the term man in the verse above refers more
to mankind, or men and women. Sorry, no one gets a free pass on
this one. We have been looking at
being patient in the Biblical meaning, which is more like being powerful
in GOD'S way. Remember
JESUS? Of course you do. At one
point in HIS life He
was described as "having HIS face set
like flint." HE always had HIS
mind made. HE knew who HE
was and why. Yes, HE
was GOD in the flesh, but HE
gave up HIS Godhood to become exactly like
us. HE was stable in HIS
mind the same way we must be stable in our minds. When
you face your enemy (and you do everyday) you must be grounded and stable in
your relationship to the LORD. Yes
there is temptation, and yes we succumb at times. But I am talking about
down deep inside. There is constant
pressure on all of us to doubt the LORD.
It comes from all directions. It comes in through our eyes and ears into
our brain which can be a traitor at times. What
helps me when I am under this kind of assault is to say, "No! JESUS
I choose YOU!" Joshua did it in
the Old Testament times. David did it over and over in his Psalms. Maybe
it will work for you. When the pressure comes to be double-minded, just
say, "No! JESUS
I choose YOU!
