Today's
E-Votion Patience:
The ability to stand strong no matter what hostile device is assaulting you (my
definition)
James
Chapter 1 9
Let
the brother
of low degree
rejoice
in
that he
is exalted: 10
But
the rich,
in
that he
is made low:
because
as
the flower
of the grass
he shall pass away. 11
For
the sun
is no sooner risen
with
a burning heat,
but
it withers
the grass,
and
the flower
thereof
falls,
and
the grace
of the fashion
of it
perishes:
so
also
shall
the rich man
fade away
in
his
ways.
GospelSeek.com The
message here in my opinion is that the material "stuff" of this world
can be and often is in direct opposition to the flow of the SPIRIT.
This includes when we have lots of it and when we have a lack of
it. A great attack against a person
is when there is great need. And another great attack is having more than
enough. But guess what . . . neither state is evil in itself.
It is our reactions and behavior that causes them to be so. When
we give a rich person a "little extra grace" because of his or her
financial state, we do damage to them just as much as when we sniff at the
homeless person who passes us on the street. So,
our LORD JESUS
says to exalt (lift up) the person of low degree and treat as low or normal
the one of noble stature. In doing so we remove the temptation from
either to use that stature (low or high) as a means to establish the personhood
of the individual. Rich or poor, it is character and the inner person
that matters to the LORD and to us as well. I
have known wealthy, important people who are so humble and kind that you just
have to love them. And I have also known those of low degree (worldly
speaking) to be the same as well. In
the Family of GOD character counts and love
from the inner self to other people is what JESUS
values. If
