The Meaning of (this) Life

Have you ever wondered "what's it all about?"  Let's take some time with
the Word of GOD to see what He has to say about it!

Purpose #1
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Purpose #2
Love your neighbor as yourself.

Ephesians 4:16 (New Living Translation)

Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Loving the unlovable person

We are studying principle #2 in the directions given to us by JESUS on how to live this life.  And that directive is to "Love our neighbor as ourselves."  Another way of saying this might be, "Allow GOD'S love to flow through you to all people."

But what about the "unlovable?"  Once I was going to church with a person whom I also worked with each day.  He was very annoying!  I prayed to the LORD to change him.  Well, the LORD answered the prayer but instead of changing him HE changed meHE caused me to love this person.

But that is not always how it will go.  Some people are truly unlovable.  But, especially in the Body of CHRIST, we must love one another.  Here is a great principle to accomplish this.

JESUS loved us when we were unlovable

For a Holy GOD to love a sinful creature is a miracle beyond miracles.  It took so much effort that it resulted in the death of one of the parties.  JESUS died for us while we were yet unlovable.  In fact, JESUS died only for imperfect, unlovable people.  Us!

When we find someone who is unlovable, we can remember HIS example and allow HIS great love to flow through us!

(Disclaimer)
Loving our neighbor as ourselves does not require
living in an abusive or dangerous relationship.
Some people need to be loved from a great distance)
