Today's
E-Votion Priority
- JESUS!
Matthew 6:32-34 (New Living Translation)
Why be like the pagans
who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows
all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for
him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today's trouble is enough for today. We
have been discussing our life-priorities over the last few weeks. It is good
to take time occasionally to examine our life in light (and I do mean light)
of the Word of GOD. So today we continue
with JESUS' own formula for success. JESUS
had been teaching HIS followers about things.
HE said that we should not worry about what to
eat, drink or wear. I guess this could continue to where we live, what we
drive, where we go for vacation . . . There
is to be a difference between the goals and desires of believers and non-believers
(which is what the word pagan means). The difference is that we are to
seek HIS Kingdom. When we do, HE
promises all the things we need will be supplied. No,
this doesn't mean we must quit our jobs. We can be very valuable to the
Kingdom where we work, or live, or socialize. What
JESUS is saying is that our priority as HIS
child is to desire to let HIM utilize us for HIS
purpose, which is to reach and keep others for HIS
Kingdom. In a few centuries past, great
musicians attached themselves to patrons. The musician would spend his
time writing great music and the patron would provide the musician's living.
Although this is a crude analogy, there are many similarities. JESUS
promises to provide everything we need. Everything! We are commissioned
to build HIS Kingdom. It is as simple as
that. Take a moment to examine your
priorities. Then, if they are in line with our Scripture passage for today,
rejoice in that HE is your Perfect Provider! If
you would like a non-complicated way to help build HIS
Kingdom, we offer the ability to build it online at www.christonaa.org.
