Why be like the pagans
who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows
all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for
him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today's trouble is enough for today. The
LORD said that unbelievers are deeply
concerned about things. This is reasonable because, well, what else is
there to be deeply concerned about? I mean, from a non-Kingdom standpoint, all
there is are things. I am not
preaching self-punishment here and neither (I think) is JESUS.
But consider, what could be better - Us seeking things 24/7 or us seeking HIM
and HE provides our needs? We
work, we play, we go to church, and we do it all in HIS
Name. And HE takes pleasure in providing
all we need. As I said, "What could be better?" Take
some time today and really consider how to more fully implement this principle in
your life. The reward is great! It would be so easy for you to become an
