Saturday Wrap #169

Investment for wealth

For various reasons, among which is my attempts to avoid becoming destitute, I have recently been looking at a lot of investment plans which are available on the Internet. It's quite amazing what's on offer and to say the least, very tempting. They tend to come in two main categories, 'long term' and 'short term'.

The 'long term' plans tend to offer very realistic and safe investments like, $5,000 invested over a period of 5 years at 2.5% per year will give you a return of $5,625. This is a very safe investment and your money is guaranteed but....there are not many of us could afford to loose the use of our $5,000 for such a long period and with such 'insignificant' returns.

On the other hand is the 'short term' investment. These are called HYIP's (High Yield Investment Plans) offering such figures as, $1,000 over a term of 30 days will bring returns of $2,000 (and often more). Now you're talking! Double your money in one month. Wow! If I re-invest all my profits each month for a year I'd be worth over $4,000,000.

Of course, it's just not going to happen. Such investment plans are nothing more than a con, otherwise we'd all be sunning ourselves on the beaches of Belize. It would appear then, that securing your future may not be such a simple matter. What would be ideal is an investment company that not only guarantees security but also one that makes the initial investment payment for you.... OK, now you know I'm crazy but here's a thought.....

God invested His Son in us.

All that remains is for us, through our faith, to commit to His investment.
The returns? The list is as long as eternity itself.

Re-affirm your commitment here
