Saturday Wrap #174

Thank you

A friend calls in and tells you that they are going to the shops. "Is there anything I can get you?" They ask.
"Yes please." You answer, glad of their kind offer. "Can you get me a can of gloss, red paint"
"Yes." They say.
"Thank you." You respond.

Thank you. What are you thanking them for when they haven't yet brought you the requested paint? It must be that you are thanking them for the offer or the promise. Anyway, some time later they arrive back from the shops and just as promised they hand you your can of paint. "Thank you." You say again. This time you are thanking them for keeping there promise.

The next time you need help and you turn to our Lord, remember to thank Him...not only for making the promise but for keeping His promise. A promise from Jesus is a promise kept. Thank Him before He delivers. It's a showing of faith in Him and it pleases Him that you have such faith.

Just like it says in yesterdays Evotion,

When you are having trouble waiting for GOD'S Promise to be fulfilled in your life, be sure to be found praising HIM morning, noon and night.  The Follower of JESUS rejoices before and after HIS Promise arrives.

By the way, if you ever ask the Lord for a can of gloss, red paint but He only delivers a can of undercoat, trust in Him that this is what you really need. Looking for what you expect often blinds you to what you may receive.
