Saturday Wrap #181

The wedding gift

My wife and I had to travel on Monday to a town in WA State called Spokane in order to purchase a few things for our daughter's wedding.

Our car was shaking a bit as we got out on the Freeway. I kept the speed approx 60 mph instead of the designated 70 mph.

We traveled more than 4 hours when the car began to rock and bump back and forth very strongly. Visual inspection found nothing to be wrong so we continued for another 45 minutes until we arrived at our destination.

I knew that things were serious and that we and other people were in a bit of danger so a good bit of prayer went up faster than the car was traveling!

I took our car to a tire shop and told them of the problem with the rear tire on the drivers side. After serious inspection the problem was with the rear tire on the passengers side. Long pieces of steel were beginning to budge out of the tire and it was ready to BLOW!

The Salesman went on to try to sell me a new set of tires because they were all showing wear. I explained in a bit of embarrassment that I could not afford the luxury since all I had was going to my daughter's wedding arrangements and hoped he had a suitable used tire I could buy for now.

The Salesman did not reappear, but in a few minutes a tire was being installed by a mechanic. I asked him how much I owed them for this tire and he told me that he would ask the Salesman to find out. He walked into the shop and yelled. "The gentleman wants to know how much he owes us for this tire."

The Salesman's voice rang out loudly in the presence of many witnesses. "The man has a wedding to pay for! The tire and labor is a gift from the Company to this man and his daughter that is soon to be married."

When we ask the LORD, "How much do I owe YOU for all these blessings YOU continually provide me with?" You hear HIS voice ring out loudly in the presence of
many witnesses.

"You are invited to a wedding already paid for! All my blessings and gifts are free from my heart to you and your family which will soon attend the wedding of the LAMB in everlasting joy."
