Psalm
23 Continuing in the promises,
prayers and predictions connected to the twenty-third Psalm. Verse
2: Promise and Prediction.
We read in Psalms 23:2, "He
maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside
the still waters." This is continuing in David's statement of his peace in life and
Joy in following in the Lord's way. ("The Lord
is my shepherd.") God's
Promise: We also read about laying (or finding our resting place) in 'pastures' in
Ezekiel 34:14 when the Lord promises, "I
will feed them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the
height of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a
good fold; and on fat pasture shall they feed on the
mountains of Israel. (Home)" This is not only a promise
of Home but a promise that can be just as real in our earthly lives today. Prediction: "..still
waters." Could it be that these are the same 'waters' as mentioned in Revelation
7:17, "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds
them, and leads them to springs of waters
of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their
eyes." ? I am sure these 'waters' are one in the same. If
you feel that yours are not lush pastures or that the waters of your spirit are not still
or calm, then ask the Lord right now to lead you to this place. Let
the Lord guide you and be your shepherd. |
