Saturday Wrap #200

Greener Fields

I looked out of the window this morning while I was washing the pots and half smiled to myself as I could see beyond the garden, across the fields into the distant, rolling hills of the English countryside. The new tinge of green rejoiced in the message that Winter was on it's way out and Spring was on the door step.

It's strange how we look upon the different seasons. We welcome the Spring, enjoy the Summer, indulge in beautiful Autumn and although we may not exactly welcome the Winter we have certainly learned to expect and accept it. In the mighty scheme of things Winter is as vital as Spring; with it's cold stillness and 'earth as hard as iron, water like the stone ... '

Everything has it's own season and time. We may be struck down by grief (a much harsher Winter than the North wind brings). But in time your wounds will heal and there will be signs of new beginnings. You may be worried or at your wits-end but do not loose sight of the Lord. He is with you in your Winter and think of this, no matter how harsh your Winter is, it serves a purpose ... just like the freezing Winter prepares a way for the daffodils to grow.

Praise the Lord for the lessons that Winter brings and for the greener fields that are to follow.
